The Head of the Central Jakarta Immigration Office, M. Iqbal Ma'ruf, stated that this outreach program aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of GCI, convey service mechanisms and procedures, and improve cross-agency synergy with the diaspora community.

"We hope this activity will not only be a means of education, but also a forum for productive discussion and information exchange," Iqbal said in Jakarta on Monday.

Iqbal further said that the socialization was attended by participants from various elements consisting of representatives of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration of the Jakarta DK, representatives from the Immigration Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) in the Jakarta DK area, the diaspora community or mixed marriages in Indonesia, and others.

Meanwhile, Pamuji Raharja, Head of the Jakarta Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration, hopes that all participants will gain a more comprehensive understanding of the Global Citizen of Indonesia policy, including its regulations, service mechanisms, and implementation on the ground.

"I also hope this activity can provide a space for discussion and information exchange between the government, academics, diaspora communities, civil society organizations, and all other stakeholders in supporting Indonesia's increasingly advanced immigration policies that are responsive to global dynamics," he said.

The socialization activity also included presentations by speakers from the Population and Civil Registry Service of the DKI Jakarta Province, the Directorate of Residence Permits and Immigration Status, and the Directorate of State Administration, Directorate General of General Legal Administration, Ministry of Law of the Republic of Indonesia, and was followed by a question and answer session.
