Latest Update: Visa-Free Countries for Indonesian Passport Holders
Jakarta, KORANTRANSAKSI.com – Not all international travel requires a visa. Indonesian passport holders can now travel to a total of 89 countries without needing a visa. Based on the latest data from the Passport Index, cited on Sunday (April 19, 2026), the Indonesian passport ranks 56th in the world with a score of 89.
As of April 2026, Indonesian passport holders can travel to 42 visa-free countries, 40 countries offering Visa on Arrival (VoA), and 7 countries requiring an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA).
On the other hand, there are still 109 countries that require Indonesian citizens to obtain a visa prior to departure. These include most European (Schengen) countries, North America (Canada and the United States), Australia, the United Kingdom, and several Asian countries such as South Korea. However, this data differs from the latest 2026 Henley Global Index report.
According to the official website of Henley Global Index, a London-based global citizenship advisory firm, the Indonesian passport ranks 64th among the world’s most powerful passports. It states that Indonesian passport holders have visa-free access to 70 countries, trailing behind Singapore (2nd place) and Malaysia (6th place).
